We kick off each semester with a bang! by providing all new and returning students opportunities to meet new friends and reconnect with others, explore resources and services provided by a number of campus departments, and have fun before the hard work of the semester sets in. But to do that, we need your help!

We are looking for a diverse group of dedicated, energetic, and friendly students to volunteer as Welcome Leaders for our Welcome Programs.

As a Welcome Leader, you will…

  • Help new students find their community here at University Park
  • Staff large- and small-scale events on a team of other Welcome Leaders
  • Learn about campus events and activities
  • Meet your peers and make new friends
  • Share your own experiences as a new student at University Park
  • Earn volunteer hours

There are three upcoming opportunities to volunteer: Spring Welcome, Summer Welcome, and Fall Welcome. Each opportunity provides new and exciting experiences, so consider volunteering for one or all of them!

  • Spring Welcome 2023: Saturday, January 7 – Friday, January 13
  • Summer Welcome 2023: Sunday, June 25 – Friday, June 30
  • Fall Welcome 2023: Tuesday, August 15 – Saturday, August 26

Because our Welcome Leaders will be the face of our Welcome Programs, all students interested in volunteering should meet the minimum requirements below:

  • Attend one of the training sessions associated with your Welcome Program of interest
  • Have completed at least one semester at University Park and be enrolled as a full-time student
    • Spring Welcome Leaders should be enrolled full-time for spring 2023
    • Summer/Fall Welcome Leaders should be enrolled full-time for fall 2023
  • Work collaboratively among the team of Welcome Leaders and other student and professional staff
  • Make yourself available to volunteer for events and activities as allowed by your course schedule
